At our core, social impact is absolutely everything and you, our community, have gone great lengths to assist us with the funding, production and distribution of Sheltersuit products to the unsheltered. To date we are proud to say, we have distributed over 12,500 Sheltersuits across Europe, South Africa and the U.S. But with over 150 million people around the world without a place to call home, we have to scale our mission – and we can’t do it alone.
Now we are at such an important juncture - a point where we need to widen our circle and inspire collaborations so that we can scale our mission and protect even more people who are living unsheltered.
We want to shine a light on how the fashion industry can reduce the suffering of people experiencing homelessness while upcycling materials responsibly. Our first step is an exciting collaboration with Chloé. A French fashion house from Paris who is prioritising sustainability and social impact in an effort to take on a much larger global issue - with us.
We remain rooted in sustainable and social entrepreneurship, and our mission will always stay the same. Our products continue to be crafted in social factories by people distanced from the labour market including refugees and former homeless individuals, under ethically responsible working conditions. By expanding our network and our partnership base, we will be able to provide more people with jobs, personal development and increase production capacity, all while keeping product waste to a minimum.
As humans, we can inspire others to multiply the Sheltersuit Effect. Because everyone is entitled to warmth and dignity.
We are, and always will be, people helping people.
